Globally recognised Payment Gateway, Cardstream, announced that it has chosen Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance to be its ‘2022 Charity of the Year’. With a number of events being held over the course of 2022, Team Cardstream is extremely privileged and excited to raise vital funds for such an important charity.
The charity provides critical care with a team, consisting of at least a doctor, a specialist practitioner, and a pilot for each mission. The doctors are predominately drawn from NHS Hospital Trusts across the region and the practitioners are from the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT).
When patients are critically ill or injured, a key element in their survival is arriving at a hospital with the specialist expertise to enable immediate life-saving care. Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance plays a key role in this chain of survival as their clinical team stabilise patients whilst the aviation team enable vast distances to be travelled rapidly.
So far this year, Cardstream have hosted an office bingo. This saw employees donating to the charity in order to take part. The event was a huge success. Office bingo raised £230 and was well received by the staff who took part.
Due to the success of this event, there are several other charity events in the pipeline. The next event Cardstream staff will be participating in will be a Sports Day. This is the perfect event to encourage team building, staying active, and raising money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
