Cardstream Elects Mind in Somerset to be its Charity of the Year

TAUNTON SOMERSET

Cardstream, a global independent provider of white label partner-focused payment services, announced that it has chosen Mind in Somerset to be its ‘Charity of the Year’. With a vast number of events being held over the course of 2021, Team Cardstream is extremely privileged and excited to raise vital funds for such an important charity.

Why is Cardstream supporting Mind in Somerset?

There has never been a greater need for Mind than in the current climate. Mental health problems in England, Wales and across Europe are on the rise: by the end of 2021, depression will be the leading cause of health problems in Europe and the cost of poor mental health to our society exceeds £110bn.

Mind in Somerset aims to promote and champion a greater understanding of mental health issues across Somerset, whilst operating to the highest standards of governance and best practice.

Here at Cardstream, we want to mirror the values of Mind in Somerset through a variety of activities and challenges that are fun and collegial, raising everyone’s personal sense of well-being.

Cardstream’s Charity Events:

In April, Team Cardstream held a virtual charity pub quiz over Microsoft Teams. This exhilarating five rounds of general knowledge questions was hosted by Jack Mangnall, Cardstream’s Head of Partner Growth. The team members raised a donation to Mind through entry fees.

Last week, Cardstream was thrilled to partner with Snap Fitness Gym in Taunton to hold the Ride for Mind Fundraising Challenge, where Team Cardstream as well as the team over at Snap Fitness cycled the 837 mile distance from Land’s End to John o’Groats over a 5 day period, using a spin exercise bike situated in our office. Cardstream, as a team, is keen to participate in as many physical activities/challenges as possible this year. We want to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity for improving mental health and well-being, both during the pandemic and after it.

With this in mind, over the summer months Cardstream is also participating in the Tough Mudder South West obstacle endurance event.
