Senior Business Analyst

Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our internal teams and external stakeholders to understand, analyse, and communicate complex business requirements, and to write high-quality technical scoping documents and tickets outlining new integration proposals, designs, and schemas.

You will also be expected to stay up to date with changes and iterations in the industry standards and supplier APIs that we rely on.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about delivering high-quality work, building strong relationships, and contributing to the success of our organisation.

Responsibilities

At Cardstream you will:

  • Understand, analyse, and communicate complex business requirements.
  • Create high-quality technical documents including Scope of Works, solution designs and technical proposals.
  • Take ownership of creating structured documentation and tickets in our JIRA project management system whilst communicating effectively with our technical delivery teams.
  • Communicate incoming changes with our Partner Support, Product and Development teams.
  • Contribute clear and comprehensive documentation to support our teams and partners.
  • Integrate with our Software Development Lifecycle processes and procedures, and meaningfully participate within our Scrum framework.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team and provide contextual information to enable software developers to meet their goals.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and workshops for both internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification

You will need to have:

  • A detail-oriented and meticulous mindset, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy, and a passion for doing things correctly for the benefit of consumers.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience, in a related software field and in a position of responsibility, where your meticulous mindset has demonstrably contributed to the continued success of an organisation.
  • Solid understanding of programming fundamentals; a background in software development in any language is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex business requirements and identify potential solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy and a high degree of familiarity with computing concepts.
  • The ability to work as part of a dynamic team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines, whilst maintaining a focus on achieving agreed objectives.
  • Strong ethical values and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Nice to haves:

  • A degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • The ability to read and understand object-orientated and functional PHP code.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Developer, or related role, preferably in the financial or payment industry.
  • Experience with JIRA, Scrum, and project management tools.
